How to study, work & settle abroad?

Every year more than 5 Million students graduate in India and there is no apparatus to provide them secured jobs. The second major issue is that there are no regulated minimal wages that can guarantee even a basic lifestyle. Contradicting this situation in India, countries like Australia, Canada and many others have the opposite situation. There are more work opportunities and fewer people. Job equality and pay parity mean that a Fast food joint worker and a sales executive would be at par in society irrespective of their socio-cultural backgrounds.

These 2 principal factors ensure that every year more than 2 lakhs students go abroad to pursue higher education from India. We help students both at UG and PG level to go to these countries on study visas with a vision to settle in that country. Good quality education from top universities ensures that students have a positive chance to secure white-collar jobs and in a worse scenario, plenty of blue-collar jobs are available to survive decently until they find an appropriate career opportunity.

If a student wants to study abroad and settle, he/she has to follow a simple process:-

  • shortlist course, university, desired country to study in based on their profile
  • apply to colleges abroad and get an offer
  • apply with necessary documents and get a student visa of that country
  • book a ticket, pack bags and go to study abroad
  • accomplishing the studies and use the post-study work permit visa and begin working there
  • apply for Permanent Residency (PR) and settle there

Foreign Education will help you to grow personally and improve your job prospects after graduation. It will help you to develop as a global citizen who is more independent, mature and tolerant of cultural differences.

Eligibility criteria vary from university to university but the most common are:-

  • SAT / GMAT (Undergraduates)
  • IELTS / PTE / TOEFL (Mandatory for students whose first language is not English) (Certain countries like UK / Europe accept students without certification based on certain eligibility factors)
  • An average score of 55% and above in last education
  • Statement of purpose
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Transcripts
  • Internship/work experience (in case of professional and related courses)

An Ideal recommendation is to begin your application process at least one semester in advance and better if you begin a year early. it will give you enough time for your applications to be processed and to prepare for your time overseas. An ample time will give you sufficient space to decide what type of experience you are looking for in terms of location, interest, duration and cost.

The expenses of studying abroad not only include the tuition fees but the cost of living in the place where you will study. However, the single biggest factor to estimate your expenses is usually how leisurely you will live. Also, the tuition fees vary from course to course. Studying from a reputed institute will roughly double your tuition fees, but it will also give you more value in terms of learning as compared to an Indian institute.

Scholarships – You will be pleased to know that international scholarships for Indian students are offered by many governments, organizations and specific universities. The amount varies by level of study and by the institution. Scholarships are competitive and you need to demonstrate exceptional academic achievements

Family Funding – If your family can fund your overall or partial education and stay, it can ease you to a great extent.

Education loans – This is the most preferred option for students wanting to study abroad. It puts a lesser burden on parents and instills a sense of responsibility in students. Although, most banks will give you an education loan, only if you meet certain criteria. This means you can get a loan if you are planning to study in a recognized institute, especially for courses that are in demand like MBA, Medical Studies and Engineering and other vocational courses.

It could be a very first-hand experience for most students who may have never traveled abroad. Many students who lived in their comfort zone back home may encounter a lot of difficulties like cultural shock, homesickness, loneliness, financial issues, and language barriers. One can observe these challenges as an opportunity for self-improvement, and the benefits of studying abroad will greatly offset the difficulties.

It depends on your expectations and needs of independence, easiness and budget. Options vary from shared apartments to college hostels and homestays with local families.
